Start of Shooting and selection of locations and characters.

Now that i have a clear mind for my movie, the next problem is selection of locations for my scenes and characters. Today I spoke to sir Zafar about It and I am happy that he helped me to reach campus principal Madam Darrah and teachers like sir Saadi and sir Nadeem .They have not just agreed but have also promised to be available as and when required during the school time. I wanted to shoot few scenes at home but will not be able to do so because of my friends availability issues and forthcoming midterms.

However issues of mise-en-scenes are very interesting as most of the shoot will be during school time and in school uniform. For locations I visited every corner of the school and was surprised to note, how my school looks when I look at it from movie making angle.

Choice of back ally, front foyer, corridor, principal's office and A1B classroom is finalized. Madam Darrah has ordered domestic staff to arrange for the mise-en-scene stuff as and when required.

Sir Zafar was a great source of help during this whole process and escorted me virtually every place to keep an eye on my selections and decisions.

I also spoke to my friends and formed the groups to act in my movie. I also handed them the script copies and they immediately started rehearsals for the movie.

Storyboarding

Storyboards are graphic organizers such as a series of illustrations or images displayed in sequence for the purpose of pre-visualizing a motion picture.

The storyboarding process, in the form it is known today, was developed at the Walt Disney Studio during the early 1930s, after several years of similar processes being in use at Walt Disney and other animation studios.

My storyboard is in accordance to my screenplay and is shown below. You may kindly wish to click on the images below to enlarge them.

Screenplay

“SCRIPT OF THE MOVIE”

“THE BUNKER’S”

The topic which I have chosen for my movie is “Bunking”, rather “Group Bunking”. It is based mainly on two groups of students who have different reasons for bunking. This movie is shot in Beacon House School (Jubilee Campus).

SCENE 1

Firstly the back gate, school logo, parking lot, part of the school and the back ally is shown. This is done to familiarize the viewer with the view of the whole school , after which the groups of friends are focused in an open school ground and their different reasons for bunking are analyzed further.

SCENE 2

The next shot is in the school, in the classroom showing the group of friends attending their classes at the beginning of the session.

SCENE 3

In the third scene the first group is shown bunking classes, their only reason being that they want to experience how fun it is hiding from teachers while their classes are taking place. They are shown to be having fun at the back ally while having snacks and chatting with each other.

SCENE 4

Then in the fourth scene the second group‘s reasons for bunking are shown. They mainly do it because of incomplete work, and are shown in the library trying to complete it but are not able to do so. Out of all the members of group two, two of the members bunk classes due to lack of sleep because of excess usage of computer, which includes stuff like, using social networking websites like facebook, chatting and surfing on the net unnecessarily etc.

SCENE 5

Bunking is a major issue for the principals of all schools and needs to be stopped. Both the groups are successful in bunking sometimes, but not always. Different reasons of bunking for different groups are shown. In the next scene it is shown that both the groups are caught by one of the school teacher’s at different times. After the sixth scene, the next scene shows both the groups standing in the principal’s office and she is questioning them. Group 1 promises to come back in class and not to bunk any of their classes from now onwards, where as Group2 is sort of a stubborn group and due to their stubbornness and ego they remain quiet and continue with their activities.

SCENE 6

After the scolding there comes a scene which shows that Group 1 show up in class as promised but the other group continue with their activities.

SCENE 7

After this the class room is shown in which students are shown taking their exams. The groups who started taking classes seemed to be quite comfortable and confident in giving the paper where as the groups that continued with their activities and refused to attend classes seemed tensed.

MORAL: - Students regard bunking as a fun activity, an activity which they think makes them look good because they are going against the rules but it is only in the end that they realize that it is because of their non- serious and fun seeking attitude that they are now suffering with low marks in their exams. A proof of this is the students who mended their ways and are now academically more successful than them.

Initial Idea & Written Work

For many days I have been thinking over different ideas to work on for G324 movie. Pondering over individual ideas was a tough task. Talked with friends, family and finally sat down with sir Zafar and decided upon a realistic and original idea, "The Bunker's". Following is the initial writeup I came up with today.
